Dear Prime Minister,

It is with mounting incredulity that I write to you for a sixth time.

Disappointingly, I also note that my last letter May 2025 has yet to be acknowledged. Something that does not appear to reflect accountable Government, renewed by values of tolerance, decency and respect.

I continue to await a meaningful response to my specific query related to the egregious MP FILTER which I first brought to your attention in February 2024.

The two Westminster replies I have received, both fail to address the issue I raised and neither explains why this outdated, damaging piece of legislation has never been removed.

I strongly urge you to look into this matter which potentially denies a huge percentage of people access to the Public Health Service Ombudsman. Frankly, in this day and age, how a procedural impediment of this nature remains in place completely beggars belief. The MP FILTER provides protection for local MP’s and certain institutions in their constituencies… at the expense of public transparency and challenge. That simply cannot be right or proper. The Victims & Prisoners Act 2024 amendment is not enough.

In closing, I would like to again request a meeting with the Secretary of State DCMS to voice my grave concerns regarding another particularly draconian extension of power which is currently operated by all National Museums. In essence, these ‘ arms-length ’ bodies oversee independent administrative restriction to their institutions without offering any process of appeal whatsoever. That is ridiculous. Two months after writing in July 2024 on this topic, you kindly agreed to forward my letter to the Department for Digital Culture Media & Sport. However, to this day DCMS have never contacted me and I now wonder if they ever received a copy of my observations.
